JSON Feed Not Working On Your Roku Direct Publisher Channel?

Recently we have been experiencing several issues with Roku channel content not propagating on-screen. We have been developing and launching Roku channels for over ten years including both SDK and Direct Publisher (DP) channels and never experienced this issue before.

We scoured the Roku Developer forums for answers but every post immediately assumes it’s something on the developer’s end — i.e., the JSON feed isn’t categorized right or the syntax is wrong or …whatever.

We also reached out to both Roku Support and Roku Partner Success and they only respond with a generic answer not much different from the forum advice.

Turns out, none of their advice is correct. Our feeds are perfect. The mistake isn’t on our end but rather a bug on Roku’s end — a bug we ultimately discovered a very simple and easy fix for.

So if your newly launched Roku Direct Publisher channel is only showing Search and About icons and nothing else, rest assured, the problem is likely NOT on your end. You can reach out to Roku Support and ask them to fix it, and ultimately they probably will (we’re still waiting for a response two weeks later) OR you can reach out to us and have us fix it TODAY.

In most cases we can fix it in as little as an hour.

The cost will depend depend on the number of content items you have. The minimum cost will be $150. So if you want your new Roku channel populated and up-and-running quickly, simply visit www.mediarazzi.com or email phil@mediarazzi.com and we’ll fix it today.
